In my last blog entry I talked about casting my horse sculptures from their plaster ceramics molds, and having to piece them together. In the past month or so of molding work, I also decided to try and customize a Boreas Percheron in greenware. I succeeded in getting it all the way through the process and firing to bisque! The custom alterations are a raised foreleg and new tail. I am going to glaze this one to a very dark dappled Percheron grey. Here are a few photos. This is only my 2nd attempt at big reworks to greenware clay. It is not an easy process! Oh, and the two Optime Arabians I cast also survived the fire to bisque in perfect shape!
