Boreas Percheron China in Cobalt Blue Available

UPDATE: Sold

Here is a fabulous Boreas Percheron in earthenware ceramic, with a deep cobalt blue glaze. My Boreas mold is degrading fast so I don’t think there will be many more of these made. These art glaze colors are super popular (and I love them too) and this BIG boy looks especially good in blue!

I’m asking $525 USA shipping included. I do ship overseas and can get you a price for that.

Two “Fly” Tiles Available

Update: Both are sold

Here are the first two ceramic versions of my “If I Could Fly” pegasus bas relief tile. They are for sale at $200 each USA postage paid.

One is green and the other is a dusky teal color. The teal one is in a crackle glaze though the crackling is subtle. Note: these photos make the teal look a little more blue than it actually is. My camera was having trouble seeing this color!

They are each mounted into a 12″ x 4″ x 2″ black wood frame. It can be stood on a tabletop or mounted on the wall.

Denderah Arabian Sculpture Completed

93702FD9-4C06-4C28-B030-977FD7B61C30

Today I have officially finished the Denderah Arabian Stallion sculpture.

It takes me so long to get work done these days (blame our active, travel-y, fun retirement life!) that I forget how great it feels to finish something!!! Hooray!

I quickly took a bunch of “raw” photos of the work with my phone, for my resin casting and bone china producers to see the horse and give me price quotes. If you’d like to see these too (DISCLAIMER: bad phone photos with lots of perspective distortion!!!!!) go to this link on google drive. You can see him dance with a can of Coke Zero since he’s not mounted to a base. ☺️

I will make a gallery of official sculpture photos when I receive the first resin cast and can put it on an actual base.

Plans

I am in no hurry to bring this to market. I’m definitely waiting until after the holiday period.

For the resin edition I am thinking about ordering 10 pieces only, offering them for sale first-come, first-served and see how that goes. Then I’ll decide how many more I want to have made. I also need to order the black plexiglas bases and will have to fit each resin to its base. (They will look just like the shiny black plexiglas plinths that my Streetwise QH resins were released on.)  I’m guesstimating this first sale will happen in February.

Bone china edition: I have no information about that yet.

Thanks for following my work! Stay tuned here and to my Facebook/Instagram accounts for news.

Denderah!

The new official name of my upcoming Arabian Stallion sculpture is…

Denderah

Named after one of the most significant and stunning ancient temple sites in Egypt. (Pronounced “Den-DARE-ah”).

He is also getting an entirely new tail. I wasn’t 100% thrilled with it when viewed from all angles, and then after consulting with the resin casting pros at Mountain View Studios, I am going to attach one point of it to the raised left hind leg.

More to come soon … I’m hoping to open for a special limited number of resin pre-orders on November 9th, the one year anniversary of our visit to this inspiring and amazing place from antiquity.

Arabian Stallion Sculpture Update

Just a quick note about the new work, which is 99.999% complete as of this writing. And hello to all the new subscribers to this mailing list. Thank you for joining!

(NOTE: The raised foreleg is the thing that needs to be fixed. We are currently vacationing in Arizona and even though I brought my work with me, I didn’t bring the one tool I need to reposition that leg! So it must wait until I get back to the studio. Same for the ability to take professional studio photos, ha.)

I’ve moved into fact-finding on prices, quantities, and timing for resins and bone chinas of this work. (I am also probably going to change the name, which is why I’m referring to it as “Arabian Stallion” for now.) No resin sales will happen before early 2020, and chinas will probably take much MUCH longer… so please stay tuned.

Many thanks as always for your support of my work!
